Thanks to these accomplished leaders for the roles they play in guiding Norwayne Boxing Gym. Their gifts of time, talent along with their financial support and community influence have helped us get to where we are today. 

Founder and Board Member

Jeff is a former undefeated professional boxer who is now a Governor appointee and vice-chairman overseeing professional boxing and mixed-martial arts in Michigan. Jeff is also CEO of Arrow Strategies, a national contract staffing firm with headquarters in Southfield, Michigan.

Board Member

Wolf was an automotive engineer before becoming an attorney. A former bodybuilder and member of the Michigan Unarmed Combat Commission, he was unanimously elected Chairperson of the Unarmed Combat Commission in 2015.

Board Member

A native of Wayne, Richard worked in restaurants, factories and as an entrepreneur washing windows before he began a career in the growing field of computers.  He went on to found and lead IT related consulting and service firms. Richard's philanthropy focuses on the needs of medically and educationally underserved children, as well as civic and artistic causes.

Jim is Senior Director of Corporate Procurement at Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Michigan. Jim is involved in various volunteer activities community wide. He's is a graduate of Leadership Detroit XXXV and holds an MBA from Northwood University.

Board Member

Maya is a student at the University of Michigan, majoring in psychology. She is also on the Michigan Boxing Team, won the USIBA Lightweight National Championship in 2018 and serves as team President. Boxing has always played a huge role in Maya's life. Her great uncle and boxing hall of famer, Rafael Mendoza, and her grandfather were huge influences. Once she was able to walk, she was in the ring. Upon graduation, Maya will pursue a career in sports psychology.

John is the CEO of Clark Hill law firm and is known for his work on multi-million dollar corporate mergers and acquisitions. He's an expert at forming joint ventures and strategic alliances. John holds degrees from the University of Notre Dame and the University of Michigan.

Scott is the founder and CEO of SJS Investment Services, based in Sylvania, Ohio. With more than $2 billion in assets under management, and using their signature MarketPlus Investing, Scott and his team serve individual and institutional clients in nearly 30 states. Actively involved in the community and among Scott's many leadership posts, he serves as Commissioner of the Toledo MetroParks.

Sandy is Chief Human Resources Officer and Executive Vice President of Chemical Bank. She is a candid and passionate leader creates strong cultures of creativity, diversity and innovation in the workplace. She was named one of Crain Publishing's Notable Women of 2019 for her leadership within the profession of human resources and the banking industry.

Rob is a family office operations and leadership, institutional asset management, and venture capital veteran. He currently is Managing Director of a NYC family office focused on direct investment and philanthropic activity handling operations efficiency and strategic planning. He is also the co-founder of Ad Infinitum, and diagQ and the  

President of The Fallen and Wounded Soldier Fund. He is a graduate of Wayne State University.
